Seattle Cheers for a Cure

Thank you to all the NephCure friends and supporters who came out on June 2!

Nephrotic Syndrome is the leading cause of kidney failure in children, and often leads to dialysis and transplantation.  It is the number one cause of kidney disease-related deaths in both children and adults.  There are no approved drugs for this disease, and until very recently, there was little hope.  What makes this moment in time unique is that after decades of work, the promise of new therapies is now very near.

Over the past twenty years, NephCure has generated more than $40 million in research funding, helping us learn more about this condition and uncovering more than 30 associated genes.  In 2017, directly due to evidence provided by NephCure-sponsored studies, the FDA eliminated the major hurdles to FSGS drug approval.  Today, drug companies can conduct smaller, faster, and more efficient trials for FSGS treatments, and through partnerships with patients, clinics, hospitals, leading researchers and clinicians, and the pharmaceutical industry, NephCure is speeding new and better treatments to this disease community.

Our volunteers and donors who give very generously of both their time and resources are fundamental to the success of these efforts.

We hope you will join us on June 2nd to learn more about NephCure Kidney International and be a part of our mission to accelerate research for effective treatments for rare forms of Nephrotic Syndrome, and to provide education and support that will improve the lives of those affected by these protein-spilling kidney diseases.

Donations can be made below on the secure donation page or via check payable to “NephCure Kidney International” and mailed to 150 S. Warner Road, Suite 402, King of Prussia, PA 19406. Please indicate "Seattle Cheers for a Cure" on the memo line.

Proceeds from this event benefit NephCure Kidney International - a 501(c)3, to support the fight against FSGS and Nephrotic Syndrome Kidney Diseases, the search for better treatments, and a cure.
